Industry:
Pulp and Paper - PP
Product(s) Used: S2
Equipment: Paper Machine No. 1 Press Lead Roll
Problem:
Press section of news print paper machine was experiencing problems due to fiber build-up, poor sheet release, delamination and underfilm corrosion of No. 1 press lead roll covers and coatings. Previous roll cover products tested included PTFE, thermal spray metal and industrial epoxy coatings.
Solution: Multiple coats of ARC S2 were applied to an approximate system film thickness of 2 mm (80 mils). Cured ARC S2 composite roll cover was then ground to a smooth, machined finish.
Results: ARC S2 applied to paper roll to prevent fiber build-up, improve sheet release and prevent delamination and underfilm corrosion.
ARC S2 coated roll exhibits excellent sheet release and negligible fiber build-up, which is easily removed with warm, low pressure water.
